Meet our Dental Hygienists:

Carol Guerin, R.D.H.
Carol has been a Dental Hygienist since 1981. She graduated from the University of New England in Portland, Maine. She moved here in 2001 with her husband John and two children Matt and Megan, and their dog Buster.
Carol enjoys helping patients feel more comfortable during their dental visit. In addition, helping people become aware of oral health is a passion for Carol. She is happy to work with everyone at Powell Dental because they are a real team who care about every patient as an individual.
Carol enjoys traveling, camping, and kayaking with her husband.

Heidi Schmitke, R.D.H.
Heidi grew up in Grants Pass, OR. She graduated from Pacific University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Dental Hygiene.
Heidi has been working at Powell Dental since 2006. She used to be one of Dr. Blair’s assistants before going through Dental Hygiene school. Heidi loves working at Powell Dental where it is a friendly, fun work environment. She feels Powell Dental is a practice that truly cares about the health and well-being of the patients.
Heidi enjoys spending time with family and friends, hiking, swimming and traveling.

Katherine Gilpin, D.A.
Katherine has been Dental Assisting since 1998 and has worked for Powell Dental since 2009.
Katherine enjoys working at Powell Dental because it is a warm and friendly office. She feels that the patients here are pleasantly surprised to feel at home and well cared for when they come to Powell Dental.
Katherine grew up in Oregon City and likes to spend her time outdoors hiking, biking, and horseback riding amongst other things.

Olesya Kodryanu, C.D.A.
Olesya was born in Moldova - a little country located between the Ukraine and Romania - and moved to the United States in 1997. Olesya started working in the dental field in 2004 and attended Portland Community College’s Dental Assisting program where she graduated in 2006.
Olesya has been working at Powell Dental as a Dental Assistant since 2006. She is excited to work with Dr. Blair whom she thinks is an amazing dentist, who appreciates both his staff and patients, and truly listens to his patient’s needs. Also, Olesya enjoys being a part of such a caring and compassionate team.
During her free time, Olesya enjoys shopping, spending time with friends and family, and camping.

Meet our Front Office:

Ira Groubii
Ira was born in Odessa, Ukraine and grew up in Vancouver, Canada. She moved to Oregon in 2000 where she graduated from Milwaukie High School in 2002. Ira attended Portland Community College’s Dental Technology program.
She has been working at Powel Dental since 2008 with her best friend of 10 years, Olesya. Ira started at Powell Dental as a Dental Assistant, but now divides her time between assisting and working up front. She feels that Powell Dental is a great place to work at because of its atmosphere, and the enthusiastic care for their patients.
Ira speaks fluent Russian and Ukrainian and her hobbies include working with design – especially floral and event design.

Nora Brown
Nora was born in Germany and grew up in Belgium. She moved to the Pacific Northwest in 1996 and graduated from St. Martin’s University which is located in Washington.
Nora came to Powell Dental with 10+ years of office experience and an eagerness to learn about the dental world. She has been working for Powell Dental since 2010 and has learned so much. She feels that Dr. Blair and the staff at Powell Dental are truly wonderful and loads of fun to work with – they laugh every day!
Nora speaks fluent French. She enjoys spending time with friends and family, and likes spending time in the outdoors. She is married and has a daughter named Amelia and is expecting her second daughter March of 2012.
